Along with the profusion of vibrant blooms heralding spring’s arrival comes an abundance of allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, and runny nose. Springtime allergies can sideline many people from fully enjoying the season.
If you suffer from spring or fall allergies, it’s a sign that your immune system is struggling. So, what can you do about it? Over his 23 years of practice, Dr. Jean-Guy identified three key strategies to boost immune function and combat allergies.
Focus on Lifestyle Modifications
Optimal health is grounded in everyday habits. A primary change that can have a major impact is reducing sugar intake, which has many not-so-sweet effects on health. Sugar not only triggers inflammation but also undermines immune function. Reduce intake of sweet indulgences like cakes, candies, and high-carb foods that transform into sugar in the body. Instead, opt for wholesome foods that enrich your body and bolster immune health.
Move Frequently
Studies reveal that consistent exercise can notably improve immune function. You don’t have to be a die-hard CrossFitter or avid gym-goer to boost your health. Just 30 minutes of brisk walking daily can make a significant difference. Physical activity optimizes immune response, making one more resistant to allergens.
Fortify Your Immune System
Finally, the importance of directly fortifying the immune system cannot be overstated. Chiropractic adjustments can correct spinal misalignments that affect immune function, especially in the upper neck region. Adrenal health is vital in inflammation management. Stress can compromise adrenal functionality, hence taking supplements like Drenamin to support adrenal gland health and minimize allergic reactions is beneficial.
How Dr. Jean-Guy Triumphed Over Allergies
Dr. Jean-Guy understands the toll of allergies, having battled severe seasonal allergies at the start of his career. By consistently adopting these strategies, his allergies abated. A healthy diet, whole food supplements, regular physical activity and chiropractic adjustments made a substantial difference. The result was not immediate, but with time, his symptoms subsided, and he regained control over his health.
Acquiring Information and Taking Action
While Dr. Jean-Guy loves to empower patients with helpful information, action is also essential. “Getting great information but not taking any action does not lead to transformation,” he said.
